Annual St. Paddy’s Day Bash set for Friday night

-

Nova Scotia Power employees will raise some green for a great cause on St. Patrick’s Day.

The 12th annual Nova Scotia Power St. Paddy’s Day Bash will take place on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre.

The event, organized by Nova Scotia Power employees, has raised more than $160,000 over the past 11 years. All proceeds go towards the Atlantic Burn Camp for children and Almost Home Women’s Shelter in Sydney.

“The St. Paddy’s Day Bash is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Atlantic Burn Camp director and former Nova Scotia Power power line technician Nick Davis in a news release. “The proceeds go towards everything we need to make the experience as fun and memorable as possible for the kids.”

The event is usually held each year on the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day, but this year the event takes place on St. Patrick’s Day. The Irish-themed evening will feature music, song and dance, a fun-filled night for all. The event highlights performances by Nova Scotia Power employees, including headliners “Rock It” and Donnie Campbell.

“It’s always a really fun event with great people and great entertainment,” said Yvon LeFort, a senior engineer who has volunteered for the event since the start of the event. “What’s most important for me is being able to help such worthy causes. The two charities are so appreciative and the funds we donate each year are quite substantial for them.”

Tickets are available to purchase at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre box office or by calling 902-539-2300.
