Two men facing drug offences

PORT HAWKESBURY — Two men from Newfoundland and Labrador were released from custody Tuesday after being charged with drug offences. David Bruce Huxster, 57, of Little Bay, and Carl Walter Jacobs, 55, of Deer Lake, are jointly charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking involving marijuana and a marijuana derivative known as Shatter. They also face two counts of trafficking in the same drugs. The arrests were made Monday after a traffic stop on Highway 125 in Port Hastings at about 4:30 p.m. RCMP reported seizing approximately 10 pounds of marijuana and 100 grams of Shatter.

Both accused have been released on conditions and are scheduled back in provincial court May 29.
