Westmount man must have no contact with two individuals
A Westmount man facing multiple offences was released from custody Monday after positing $30,000 for bail in property and cash.
Mohammed Zuraibi Alzoabi, 25, of Fairhaven Drive, is charged with two counts of criminal harassment and single counts of sexual assault, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, dangerous driving, assault and uttering a threat.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between August 2015 and March.
Among the conditions of his release, Alzoabi is to have no contact with two individuals and is not allowed to possess any weapons.
He is to refrain from alcohol and is not allowed to possess or consume any drugs unless prescribed by a physician.
He is to report in person, once a week, to Cape Breton Regional Police and is to turn over his passport to police. He is prohibited from applying for a new passport.
He is also prohibited from operating any vehicle, sitting in the front seat of any vehicle and is not allowed to purchase or otherwise obtain a vehicle.
He is to return to court May 15 to enter pleas to the charges.
In addition to the criminal offence, the accused also has nearly $69,000 in outstanding motor vehicle fines that were issued between April 2014 and June 2016 for a number of offences including driving with no insurance, driving while disqualified, speeding and driving without a licence.
