Born in North Sydney on March 13, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ella (Bonar) O’Toole.

Mom grew up in Alder Point, which she referred to as God’s Country, married a shy boy from Sydney Mines in 1970, and moved to the other side of the tracks.

She worked at the Alder Point Fish Plant and Resi-Care until her retirement in 1989.

Mom enjoyed the little things in life. She had great faith in her religion, she loved playing cards with her brothers and sisters, going for drives, looking at the Sears catalogue, having visitors, spending time with family, and the past few weeks wondering if that giraffe was ever going to have its baby.

Her door was always open with a lending ear, open mind, and a come on in attitude, the more the merrier.

She looked forward to summers in Georges River and the company followed for camp fires, music and Barry’s fries and wieners.

Mom’s greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother. She absolutely adored her “bestest girl” and she loved her “dis a much”.

Mom’s motto was just because you are sick you don’t need to look it… “How’s my Hair?”
