It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Margie MacIntyre, 57, on Saturday, April1, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Margie fought a lengthy illness for 36 years, right to the bitter end.

Born in Sydney Mines on January 15, 1960 Margie was the daughter of the late Ronald and Elizabeth (Bailey) MacIntyre. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church, Sydney Mines.

Margie worked at National Sea Products in North Sydney until her illness started to take over. She enjoyed life, and embraced her illness. She continued to enjoy the quality of life she had. She loved everyone she met on her daily bus rides. They were an adventure for her.

Margie is survived by her son, Joey; sisters, Barbara Ann and Mary, Sydney Mines, and brother, John (Marlene) Bailey, North Sydney. Also surviving are her aunts, Barbara (Dave) Martin, Sheila Luker and Mary Gordon; nephews, Gary, Michael, Ryan, Ronald Jay, Brandon, John David and James; her only niece, Meghan and grandniece­s, Brooke and Katelynn. Margie loved them all very much.

Visitation for Margie MacIntyre will be held in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A celebratio­n of her life will take place on Saturday, at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church, with Rev. Marion Barclay MacKay officiatin­g.
