When God created us He equipped us with the ability to live a blessed, happy, peaceful and joyful life. In creating us there are certain things that we are well prepared to handle and there are other things that we need to avoid.

Just like in the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve there were lots of things they could touch and there were certain other things that they shouldn’t touch.

The secret to enjoying our journey through life is knowing the difference between what we should hold onto and what we need to let go of.

If you are holding onto the right things then life is sweet but if you are holding onto the wrong things then those things have the power to destroy you.

What you hold onto in your mind, emotions and spirit can either propel you into success or hinder you from ever finding happiness.

Like a water glass, we were created with a limited amount of space to make mental, spiritual and emotional decisions. At birth we start with an empty vessel but it’s not very long before we are running on full. The question is not are you full but rather what things have you allowed to take up all your space?

If God wanted to rent a room in your heart is there any empty space available? Are you so busy doing life that you have no room, no time and no space to think about how God would want you to live your life?

John the Baptist had some people following him and he knew as great as he was, he was not the Messiah but only a friend of Jesus.

In the Bible John 3:30, John declares this about Jesus, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Is this little bit of earthly wisdom the master key to living a successful life?

I want to have a great marriage, then He must increase and I must decrease.

I want to be successful at work, then He must increase and I must decrease.

I want to be a good spouse, then He must increase and I must decrease.

I want to be a true friend, then He must increase and I must decrease.

I want to walk in love, peace and joy then He must increase and I must decrease.

When Jesus was born there was no room for Him at the inn. Could I be so bold as to ask, is there any room in you for Jesus or are all your inner rooms, all the recesses of your mind already rented out to other things?

Is anger and revenge taking up space? Is hatred and pride renting from you? Does jealousy and lust live in your house? Does addiction, abuse, shame and guilt have an apartment in your heart? Is suicide the constant voice of one of your tenets?

Do you feel stressed out, overloaded and don’t know where to turn? Have you ever wondered where these feelings come from? This is merely the payment from those bad renters.

If you want to get better you can start by giving an eviction notice to all those wrong things. You can pray, “Lord, forgive me and help me to let go of the things that I was never created to carry and help me to hold onto Your unchanging hand. Lord, may You take control and lead me and guide me into all truth.”

With an honest prayer for His help you are well on your way to freedom. You were created to live a blessed life and may that life begin in you today.

Find a good church to attend. God bless you all.
