It is with broken hearts that we, the family, regret to announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson and nephew John Boutilier on May 1, 2017. Born October 9, 1976, he was the son of the late Martha Marie (MacDonald) and William Robert ‘Billy’ Boutilier (stepmother Theresa Russell).

John was a creative soul with a great passion for music and drawing. With a true heart of gold he loved to give gifts. He had a special spot in his heart for animals particular­ly his cat baby Felix. John will be forever remembered for his contagious smile, his effortless kindness and his bright blue eyes that lit up to greet you a warm hello.

Left to mourn his passing are his sister, Marion Boutilier, New Waterford; brother, Robert Boutilier, Toronto; niece and nephew, Lindsay (Sandy) Tighe, New Waterford and Blaise Tighe, Halifax; three great-nieces and nephew, Aua, Audrey and Saxton, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Besides his parents, John was predecease­d by his maternal grandparen­ts, Christina Tiny’ and Alexander MacDonald; paternal grandparen­ts, Robert and Phylis Boutilier; special brother-in-law, Blaise Tighe.

Cremation has taken place. A chapel service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Ray Huntley officiatin­g. Burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the parish hall, Convent Street, all are welcome. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-8627500.
