CAMP­BELL, Ray­mond Al­lis­ter

It is with heavy hearts that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Ray­mond (Ray) Camp­bell, 85, at the Glace Bay Hos­pi­tal on May 7, 2017 af­ter a coura­geous bat­tle with Parkin­son’s dis­ease.

Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Michael and Mar­garet (Mac­Don­ald) Camp­bell.

In his early years Ray was em­ployed with Do­min­ion Coal Com­pany and later at the Syd­ney Steel Plant. Ray was a faith­ful and ac­tive mem­ber of St. Anne’s Church. He was a mem­ber of the Lay Carmelite Or­der and a third de­gree mem­ber of the Knights of Colum­bus. Ray was an avid gar­dener.

He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 56 years, Kathleen ‘Bea’ (MacQueen); son, J.J. (Brenda), Red Deer, Al­berta; daugh­ter, Jan­ice (Cedric) Pet­ti­pas, Hal­i­fax; son Ray­mond Jr., at home; two grand­chil­dren, Court­ney (Tyler) Johnston, Red Deer, Haw­ley (Kalem), Ed­mon­ton, and also his sis­ter, Va­lerie Le­Blanc, Cox­heath.

He is pre­de­ceased by his brother, Rod­die.

Cre­ma­tion and fu­neral ar­range­ments have been en­trusted to T.J. Tracey Cre­ma­tion and Burial Spe­cial­ist, 370 Re­serve St., Glace Bay, 902-849-4199.

A Fu­neral Mass will be Fri­day May 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Leo Boone of­fi­ci­at­ing.
