MACKINNON, Mary Pauline

On the cool spring morning of Wednesday, May 10, 2017, Mary ‘Pauline’ MacKinnon, beautiful wife, mother, grandmothe­r and sister entered into the arms of our Lord, she was born in Bridgeport April 28, 1939.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph ‘Allie’ MacKinnon; daughter, Marilyn (Gordon) Huntington, Marion Bridge; son, Barry MacKinnon, Sydney; grandchild­ren, Steven and Susan Huntington, Halifax; her wonderful sister Catherine (Johnny) Facchin, Dominion; her very special niece, Joanne MacKinnon, Dartmouth, and her best furry friend “Newman”.

To her many nieces and nephews, she loved each and every one of you.

She was predecease­d by her parents, Angus MacMullin and Cassie (Campbell) MacMullin, Bridgeport; her sister, Anna (MacMullin) MacKinnon, Sydney, and her two brothers, Joseph MacMullin and Rankin MacMullin, also of Bridgeport.

She was employed by Scotiabank and worked at the Sydney Shopping Center until her retirement, where she made many great and long lasting friendship­s.

To Dr. Steven MacDougall and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit CBRH, your care and compassion goes above and beyond anything we could have expected, a special thank you to Alicia March, Anne Louise Sharp, Marjorie Daix, and Holly Winn, you are the best!

Thank you to Anne Young, Sylvia Facchin and Zelia Burton, your unwavering support will never be forgotten.

For all who knew her and the lives she touched, either with a phone call, her welcoming home or her wonderful baked goods, we are blessed to have had her in our lives. She was by far the best Nannie, ever!

May heaven bring you peace and the rest you so deserve, we love you always and forever.

Visitation for Pauline will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 11-1 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with funeral service to follow at 1:30 in the funeral home chapel.
