Celia Murline Lorway was born in Layou, St. Vincent and the Grenadines on December 10, 1944 of Dorothy Bowman and William Benjamin Charles, and died peacefully in her home in Sydney with her daughter Verne at her bedside on May 6, 2017.

Celia was predecease­d by her parents and her older sisters, Zina Garraway, Mavis Hadaway and Verna Ijoma.

Her living family members include her brother, Winston (Sandra) Charles; sister, Monica Bowman and their families; her son, Charles (Kelly); daughter, Verne; son, Robert; daughter, Norah; their father, Charles, and by her precious granddaugh­ters, Ava and Alyssa Lorway.

Celia was a registered nurse and philosophe­r of health who was active in the university and larger community through numerous work and volunteer activities. Her contagious laughter and endless compassion for others will live on in those who knew her well.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sydney River at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 with Fr. Bill Burke officiatin­g.
