It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence, age 79, on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the Guysboroug­h Memorial Hospital. Born in East Lake Ainslie on May 9, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (MacLean) Fee. Florence was an adherent of St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church, Whycocomag­h. Florence worked at the Village Inn, Texaco Restaurant In and Out, The Red Barn, Norma’s Diner and the Auld’s Cove Big Stop for 11 years.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Benita (Lawrence), Dartmouth; sons, Rick (Corinne), Edmonton, AB, Michael (Jesslyn), Skye Glen and Mark (Tanya), Mulgrave; sister, Julia (Ronnie), Sudbury, ON; brother, Colin (Helen), Whycocomag­h; grandchild­ren, Amanda, John, Donald, Jordan, Riley, Clayton and Sandy, and great-grandchild­ren, Elaina, Thomas and Jaelyn.

She was predecease­d by her husband, Richard Bennett; brother, Joey, and niece, Colleen Fee.

The family would like to give thanks for the great care and compassion of Dr. Bell and nurses and CCA’s of the Milford Haven Home for Special Care in Guysboroug­h for the special care Florence received. Also special thanks to Sadie Fee and Colin Fee for their continued support and care over the years.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. today, Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomag­h. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church, Whycocomag­h with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Stewartdal­e Cemetery.
