It is with heavy hearts that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Florence, age 79, on Wed­nes­day, May 10, 2017 in the Guys­bor­ough Me­mo­rial Hospi­tal. Born in East Lake Ainslie on May 9, 1938, she was a daugh­ter of the late Joseph and Nel­lie (Ma­cLean) Fee. Florence was an ad­her­ent of St. An­drew’s Pres­by­te­rian Church, Why­co­co­magh. Florence worked at the Vil­lage Inn, Tex­aco Restau­rant In and Out, The Red Barn, Norma’s Diner and the Auld’s Cove Big Stop for 11 years.

Florence is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Benita (Lawrence), Dart­mouth; sons, Rick (Corinne), Ed­mon­ton, AB, Michael (Jess­lyn), Skye Glen and Mark (Tanya), Mul­grave; sis­ter, Ju­lia (Ron­nie), Sud­bury, ON; brother, Colin (He­len), Why­co­co­magh; grand­chil­dren, Amanda, John, Don­ald, Jor­dan, Ri­ley, Clay­ton and Sandy, and great-grand­chil­dren, Elaina, Thomas and Jae­lyn.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Richard Ben­nett; brother, Joey, and niece, Colleen Fee.

The fam­ily would like to give thanks for the great care and com­pas­sion of Dr. Bell and nurses and CCA’s of the Mil­ford Haven Home for Spe­cial Care in Guys­bor­ough for the spe­cial care Florence re­ceived. Also spe­cial thanks to Sadie Fee and Colin Fee for their con­tin­ued sup­port and care over the years.

Visi­ta­tion will be held from 2-9 p.m. to­day, Friday in Dennis Haver­stock Fu­neral Chapel, Why­co­co­magh. Fu­neral ser­vice will be held 11 a.m. Satur­day from St. An­drew’s Pres­by­te­rian Church, Why­co­co­magh with Rev. An­drew MacDon­ald of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low in Ste­wart­dale Ceme­tery.
