Liberal victory could be expensive

-

Re-electing the McNeil Liberals in next week’s provincial election will cost Nova Scotia taxpayers millions of dollars in legal costs in fighting, and losing, the Nova Scotia Teachers’ Union court challenge to Bill 75.

Teachers in British Columbia and Ontario recently won Supreme Court challenges to similar attacks on collective bargaining in those provinces.

Premier Stephen McNeil must think that since he is paid on the same scale as those provincial premiers that he is entitled to squander equal amounts of money in court.

Both the NDP and PC parties have promised to kill Bill 75 if elected.
