With heartfelt sadness, we the family announce the passing of Sheree Ann Poulos, age 59, loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by the love of her family.

Born November 11, 1957 in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of Ada Myler and step-daughter to the late Alex Myler. Sheree was a registered nurse who trained at St. Martha Hospital School of Nursing in Antigonish, graduating in 1978. She worked at the Northside General Hospital and later as a medical secretary. She did volunteer work with Palliative Care, Transition House and the SPCA. Sheree enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, she was an amazing cook, she loved spending time at the beach, backyard fires and summer vacations in P.E.I.

Sheree was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was warm and caring and would reach out to and comfort friends in their time of need. She loved animals and would care for and sometimes adopt stray cats in the neighborho­od.

Besides her mother, Ada Myler, North Sydney, she is survived by her husband of 32 years, Peter Poulos; her two children, Graham and Eleni Poulos; her siblings, Brian (Mary) Myler, North Sydney, Brenda (Brian) Henschell, Kelowna, Marilyn MacDonald, Sandra (Dave) Thomas, both of North Sydney, Gearlyn (Percy) Tutty, Dartmouth, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predecease­d by her step-father, Alex Myler; her maternal grandparen­ts, John and Nellie Ross, and her brotherin-law, Liam MacDonald.

The family would like to thank the nursing, medical and respirator­y staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the excellent care they gave Sheree. A special thanks to Dr. David Brake for going above and beyond in looking after Sheree during her illness.

There will be no visitation by request. A private family service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SPCA of Cape Breton or a charity of choice.
