Shannon Campbell was born and raised in South Bar, Cape Breton. Campell left Cape Breton for his education after high school, graduating from St. Francis Xavier University and Technical University of Nova Scotia earing a diploma in Applied Science and a Bachelor of Mining Engineerin­g. Shannon Campbell has spent his career working on large-scale mining operations and brings more than 20 years experience to Donkin Mine. He is bringing his wife and two sons back home to Cape Breton and says his family is looking forward to living on the island again and being close to their family.
