New officers for Scotia Rail Development Society announced
SYDNEY — Charlie MacLean was elected chair and treasurer of the Scotia Rail Development Society during the organization’s annual general meeting on June
11 at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion. Other officers elected at the meeting held include Darrin McLean as vice-chair and Mary MacPherson as secretary. Board members are Dave Parsons, Jim Kehoe, Andy Pittman, Jason Morrison, Patricia Morrison and Jim Guy.
The organization has also reconfirmed its commitment to support the continuation of rail service in Cape Breton and maintain the discontinued line. The group also continues to encourage the transport of Donkin coal by rail and the inclusion of rail infrastructure in Sydney port development.
