Sydney man sentenced to prison for break and enter

SYDNEY — A Sydney man has been given a federal sentence on charges including break and enter. Elvis Erroll Janssens, 37, of MacAulays Lane pleaded guilty to two counts of break and enter and a single count of possession of stolen property. Other charges were dismissed. The offences occurred in August in Sydney. Janssens was given a four-year federal prison sentence but credited with one year and 65 days spent on remand. The remainder of the sentence is two years and 10 months. In addition, he is to supply a DNA sample to the national registry and is banned from possessing firearms for 10 years.
