Red Cross helps victims of Saturday night fire

SYDNEY MINES — Three people were left without a home following an apartment fire in Sydney Mines on Saturday night.

The fire took place in a two-storey house containing four apartment units at 22 Huron Ave. Two of the apartments were empty but the three residents of the other two had to be evacuated. There were no injuries.

The Canadian Red Cross arranged emergency lodging, clothing and food for all three.

The cause of the fire was not known.
