BENNETT, Joseph “Joey” Jr.

Ross Ferry

-

It is with deepest sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Austin Neil Joseph “Joey” Bennett, age 35, on Tuesday July 4, 2017, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Born in North Sydney on September 17, 1981, Joey was the son of Joey and Arlene (MacLeod) Bennett.

He was a friend to everyone old and young, along with that contagious smile he had for everyone, Joey had such a wonderful sense of humour, we will miss that beautiful smile. He loved everyone and they loved him, he had more friends than there are stars in the sky. In the summer when he was a young boy, there was nothing he liked better than being in the garden with his poppy, Aus Bennett. He would pick the fresh carrots and beans and eat them on the spot. He loved his sister and brother as well as his two nephews, Ray and Harrison and they spent many hours together enjoying play station.

Besides his parents, Arlene (MacLeod) Bennett and Joey Bennett, he is also survived by his sister, Amy Jo (Raymond); his brother, Charles; nephews, Ray and Harrison; uncles, Charles (Patsy) MacLeod, Angus MacLeod, Glenn MacLeod, Mansell (Ann Marie) Bennett, Mike (Judy) Kamer; his cousins whom he had a special bond with, Shawn (Kristy) MacLeod, Angela (Brian) Poole, Malcolm (Chantal) MacLeod, Stephanie (Dale) MacLeod, Katie (Izaak)Hudson, Dylan MacLeod; as well as their children and many other family members and his special close friends in the country. Thanks to the Ross Ferry prayer group for their help and support given to Joey over the last number of months.

Joey was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Austin and Agnes Bennett; maternal grandparents, Neil and Florence MacLeod and his aunt, Florrie MacLeod.

By request there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.

Memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or a charity of choice.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com .
