It is with profound sadness that the family of Kenneth Gabriel Sylliboy ‘Kenny’ announce his sudden and unexpected passing in Sydney.

Born January 13, 1961 to the late Athanasius and Theresa (Johnson) Sylliboy.

He is survived and will be deeply missed by his family, sisters, Helen, Harriet, Barbara, Lynda, Iris (Ray), Kristal (Oliver) and Murdena Marshall (Albert); brothers, Norman (Arlene), Athanasius Jr. (Rhenelda) and Duma (Margaret); sister-in-law, Betty; special children of his heart, Loresa, Brandy and sonny boy Landon. Kenny is also survived by godfather, Stanley Johnson Sr.; godchildre­n, Athanasius Gould, Norris Sylliboy, Theresa Julian, John Duncan Doucette Jr and Rosalee Doucette-MacNeil, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Kenny is predecease­d by sister, Lorraine; brother, John Duncan Doucette Sr. and infant brother Tommy; grandparen­ts, Thomas and Elizabeth Johnson; grandchief, Gabriel and Harriet Sylliboy, as well as numerous aunts and uncles; godmother, Georgina Julian; grandniece­s, Anastasia and Mariah; nephew, John Gerard, and his beloved grandniece, Jordyn.

Kenny will be greatly missed by his family, his dart buddies and his co-workers at Eskasoni School. He will also be sadly missed by all of the students that he taught throughout the years. Kenny was known as a man of faith who could often be found early in the morning out on his daily walk, enjoying nature and spending time in prayer.

Visitation started on Monday, July 24 at 110 Castle Bay Rd., Eskasoni. Funeral Mass will take place at 2 on Wednesday, July 26 at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiatin­g. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
