It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Robert ‘Bob’ Watson, 93, on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. He was the son of the late Robert and Annie (MacKinnon) Watson.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mable (Watt); daughters, Janice (John) Milne, Tottenham, ON and Avril (Robert) Malay, Barrington; grandchild­ren, Allison, Jennifer, Andrew, Kenan, Brendan and Glynis, and great grandchild­ren, Gavin, Carter, Zack, Ryland, Malakai and Noella.

Bob was employed for 40 years with Eastern Light and Nova Scotia Power Corporatio­n. Bob and Mable were avid campers who enjoyed many travelling adventures with their children. They found equal pleasure sharing this passion with their grandchild­ren who treasure many happy memories. Family was so very important to Bob, or ‘Gamp’, as he was referred to by his grandchild­ren, who still repeat “Gamp says” as an absolute truth. Bob will be remembered as a kind, caring and gracious gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob was a member of United Heritage Church on Townsend Street.

Besides his parents, Bob was predecease­d by sister, Christine (Clarence)Meisner, and uncle, Douglas MacKinnon.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 26, 6:30 – 8 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Interment for immediate family will be held at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens on Thursday July 27 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Allison Etter presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Red Cross Society, VON, or charity of choice.
