KARREL, VANDENBURG WIN TWO-BALL

Glace Bay native Debi Karrel (above) and teammate Annelie Vandenburg captured the Nova Scotia women’s twoball championship on Tuesday at Grandview Golf Club in Westphal, N.S. The Ashburn Golf Club (Kinsac) tandem combined for a 3-over-par 75 round, three strokes better than runners up Helen Castonguay and Gayle MacDonald of Northumberland Links. Ashburn (Halifax) duo Jill Rafuse and Paulette Driscoll placed third at 7 over. Karrel, who now lives in Bedford, won the same tournament in 2013 with her sister, Patsy Simon.
