JESSOME, Thomas Emmett

It is with deep regret we announce the peaceful passing of Thomas Emmett Jessome, 80, on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born in Alder Point on January 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles Vincent and Bertha (Rasmussen) Jessome.

Emmett was a proud and respected member of the Cape Breton Community who loved to garden, golf, fish and enjoy a good boiled dinner. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew him

Emmett is survived by his loving wife, Lily and adoring children, Deborah and Richard. Along with brothers, Charles (Sonny) (Jenny), Johnny (Ruth) and sister, Loretta (Ernie, deceased). Besides his parents, Emmett was predeceased by sisters, Marie, Gen, Mae, Teresa, Louise and brothers, Barney, Harold and Andy.

His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all his kind caregivers at the North Side and Cape Breton Regional Hospitals.

Visitation for the late Emmett Jessome will be held on Friday July 28, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. in the JM Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. In keeping with Emmett’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated.
