KUBLEK, Sandra

-

Glace Bay

Following a lengthy battle with cancer, it is with regret that we announce the death of (Mary) Sandra Kublek on July 29, 2017.

Sandra was born in Glace Bay on December 5, 1939. She was the daughter of the late George Tracey and Mae Crawford.

After graduating from Saint Anne’s High School in Glace Bay, Sandra began her life’s journey as a nun with the Sisters of St. Martha in Antigonish. She always struggled with her heart’s desire to serve both the Lord and to become a nurse. Prior to taking her final vows, she left the convent to pursue her nursing calling. She graduated from the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing as an RN in 1968, and she devoted the remainder of her life to the Lord, her family, and her patients.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Charlie Kublek; daughter, Tracey (Ross); son, Charles; grandchildren, Chandler, Ryan, Brianna and Raeleigh; brother, Crawford Tracey (Betty); sister, Pauline Morris (Robert), and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Eric Tracey (Jeanette), and sister, Margaret (Peggy) Tracey.

With their hearts, the family extends the utmost praise and sincerest thanks for the care provided to Sandra by the VON, Palliative and Home Care personnel. They also extend with love and kindness a special thank you to Dr. Raed Azer.

Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Big Pond on Tuesday, August 1 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in Big Pond Community Fire Hall.
