The children of Ray Tomko wish to announce the passing of their dad on July 27, 2017 at 80 years of age.

Born in Sydney he was the son of the late Catherine (Nearing) and Peter and Mary (Johnson) Tomko.

He was predecease­d by his loving wife, Elaine (Riley); brother, John (Gwenn), and sister, Darlene.

He is survived by his loving children, who will miss his humour, Raymond (Tammy), David (Lisa), Blair, Cathy (Paul) and Elaine (Keith); sisters, Rose (Blair) Oake, Kathy (Ross) Kerr and Beverley (Dave) Linden; brother, Hank (Anne), and brother-in-law, James Murphy. Also his grandchild­ren who he teased mercifully, Christophe­r, Laurissa, Nathanial, Andrea, Rachyl, Marcus and Riley, and his long-time companion of 20 years, Delorosa Livingston.

Special thanks to neighbours, Albert and Marg Hines for the morning coffees and laughs that they shared. Also a special thanks to Dr. Sebastian, Dr. Khodadad and all the staff at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre for all the care and kindness that they showed our dad during his illness.

Family flowers only. A celebratio­n of life for close family and friends will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. A reception will follow the service.
