YORK, Judy (Hickey)

Dominion/Stow, MA

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on of our earth angel Judy (Hickey) York, 77, to become our heavenly angel, on June 23, after a long battle with cancer.

Judy was born to Frank and Muriel (Keans) Hickey in 1940. She was raised in Dominion and graduated from MacDonald High School, and then St. Francis Xavier University. Judy was a teacher and librarian, working in Dominion, NWT, Edmonton and Sydney before marrying Peter York and making her home in Stow, MA.

Judy is survived by her three children, Marylee York (Eric Smith), Juliane (Tom) Shanley and Paul (Dedra) York, and her eight grandchildren whom she doted on. She had many wonderful neighbours who were as close to her as family, and was an active member of her church and community. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Judy had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, whom she is most certainly with now.

Besides her children and grandchildren she is also survived by her sister, Joan (Jim) Richardson; brother, Wayne (Pat) Hickey, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Judy was predeceased by her husband, Peter York, and brother, Frank Hickey.

May she rest in peace.
