We regret to announce the passing of our dear brother, Dennis Cyril Hardy on July 31, 2017 at his home in Ingonish.

Born in Ingonish on December 24, 1950 he was the son of the late Levi and Christine (MacDougall) Hardy.

Dennis worked as a fisherman for most of his working life, until later years when he worked in the oil fields in Alberta until his retirement. Dennis loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Legion Branch 91. When Dennis wasn’t playing darts with his friends, you could find him cheering on his favorite Hockey team the Montreal Canadiens.

Dennis is survived by sisters, Gloria (Stephen, deceased) Whitty, Ingonish, Rhodena (Gordon) MacLeod, Ingonish, Brenda (Frank) Dupont, Alliston, Ont., Darlene (Garth) Kapel, Sarnia, Ont; brothers, Rick(Brenda, deceased) Hardy, Lake Echo, NS, Darrell (Valerie) Hardy, Ingonish, along with 15 nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predecease­d by, brother, Truman MacDougall, Ingonish and sister, Gloria Hardy in infancy.

There will be no visitation, a Funeral Mass to celebrate Dennis’s life will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church Ingonish, with Fr. Lazarus Guria officiatin­g.
