COISH, Edward ‘Eddie’

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Eddie Coish, age 77, at home with his wife by his side after a short battle with cancer on Friday, August 4, 2017. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late William and Louise (Rose) Coish.

Ed worked in the coal mines, No. 12 and Lingan Mine for 37 years. He was an avid dart shooter; playing in many leagues over the years. He was a wonderful carpenter. His cupboards and vanities grace many homes in the area.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Sheila (Gillis) Coish; two sons, Clayton, Edmonton and Kevin, Ontario; sister, June; three brothers, Cyril, Tommy and Murray, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Eddie was predecease­d by a daughter in infancy; three brothers, Clarence, Jim and Johnny, as well as five sisters, Dorothy, Mildred, Pearl, Ruth and Shirley.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A chapel service will be held this Friday at 11 a.m. in the V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford, followed by interment in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown. Rev. Duncan Roach officiatin­g.
