COISH, Ed­ward ‘Ed­die’

It is with great sad­ness we an­nounce the peace­ful pass­ing of Ed­die Coish, age 77, at home with his wife by his side af­ter a short bat­tle with cancer on Fri­day, Au­gust 4, 2017. Born in New Water­ford, he was the son of the late Wil­liam and Louise (Rose) Coish.

Ed worked in the coal mines, No. 12 and Lin­gan Mine for 37 years. He was an avid dart shooter; play­ing in many leagues over the years. He was a won­der­ful car­pen­ter. His cup­boards and van­i­ties grace many homes in the area.

Ed­die is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, Sheila (Gil­lis) Coish; two sons, Clayton, Ed­mon­ton and Kevin, On­tario; sis­ter, June; three broth­ers, Cyril, Tommy and Mur­ray, and many nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides his par­ents, Ed­die was pre­de­ceased by a daugh­ter in in­fancy; three broth­ers, Clarence, Jim and Johnny, as well as five sis­ters, Dorothy, Mil­dred, Pearl, Ruth and Shirley.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place. There will be no vis­i­ta­tion. A chapel ser­vice will be held this Fri­day at 11 a.m. in the V.J. McGil­livray Fu­neral Home, 380 Smith St., New Water­ford, fol­lowed by in­ter­ment in Union Grove Ceme­tery, Scotch­town. Rev. Dun­can Roach of­fi­ci­at­ing.
