Joan Mildred Morrison, 87, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Clara Andrews of Sydney.

She is survived by her son, Harvey (Barbara) Cole Harbour; daughter, Brenda (Jerome Aucoin) Sydney; son, Keith, Coxheath; daughter, Jo-Anne Labrie (Tim), St. Lazare, QC; grandchild­ren, Michael Aucoin (Laura), Calgary, Jennifer Taylor (Colin), Dartmouth, Emma Aucoin, Sydney, Tess Labrie, St. Lazare, QC, and great grandchild­ren, Callum and Ella Aucoin, Calgary. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Florence Andrews of Cleveland, Ohio.

She was predecease­d by her husband of 58 years, Leonard; her brothers, Eric and Roland ‘Rollie’ Andrews, and her sister, Marjorie Lillico Cordingley

Until her illness Mum was active in golf, being a long time member of the Lingan Golf and Country Club. She curled for many years out of the Sydney Curling Club. Mom was also an avid cross country skier for many years. She and Dad travelled widely but their favourite destinatio­n was Barbados. She was a long-standing member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Coxheath where she was an active member of the ACW and the church guild. She was one of the last surviving members of the Riverview Y’s Menettes.

The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff of the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home and Mira Bay, Kimberly Hall, Harboursto­ne Enhanced Care for their exceptiona­l care and compassion. We would also like to thank the staff of Home Instead Sydney, especially Chris, Amanda and Marie for their excellent care of our mother.

Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Anglican Church, 19 Trinity Ave., Sydney on Saturday, August 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Reg MacDonald officiatin­g. Interment in St. Marks Cemetery.
