Joan Mil­dred Mor­ri­son, 87, passed away peace­fully on Au­gust 8, 2017 sur­rounded by her fam­ily. She was the daugh­ter of the late Stan­ley and Clara An­drews of Syd­ney.

She is sur­vived by her son, Har­vey (Bar­bara) Cole Har­bour; daugh­ter, Brenda (Jerome Au­coin) Syd­ney; son, Keith, Coxheath; daugh­ter, Jo-Anne Labrie (Tim), St. Lazare, QC; grand­chil­dren, Michael Au­coin (Laura), Cal­gary, Jen­nifer Tay­lor (Colin), Dart­mouth, Emma Au­coin, Syd­ney, Tess Labrie, St. Lazare, QC, and great grand­chil­dren, Cal­lum and Ella Au­coin, Cal­gary. She is also sur­vived by her sis­ter-in-law, Florence An­drews of Cleve­land, Ohio.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band of 58 years, Leonard; her broth­ers, Eric and Roland ‘Rol­lie’ An­drews, and her sis­ter, Mar­jorie Lil­lico Cord­ing­ley

Un­til her ill­ness Mum was ac­tive in golf, be­ing a long time mem­ber of the Lin­gan Golf and Coun­try Club. She curled for many years out of the Syd­ney Curl­ing Club. Mom was also an avid cross coun­try skier for many years. She and Dad trav­elled widely but their favourite des­ti­na­tion was Bar­ba­dos. She was a long-stand­ing mem­ber of St. Mark’s Angli­can Church in Coxheath where she was an ac­tive mem­ber of the ACW and the church guild. She was one of the last sur­viv­ing mem­bers of the Riverview Y’s Menettes.

The fam­ily would like to ex­tend its thanks to the staff of the Port Hawkes­bury Nurs­ing Home and Mira Bay, Kim­berly Hall, Har­bour­stone En­hanced Care for their ex­cep­tional care and com­pas­sion. We would also like to thank the staff of Home In­stead Syd­ney, es­pe­cially Chris, Amanda and Marie for their ex­cel­lent care of our mother.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held at Syd­ney Me­mo­rial Chapel on Fri­day, Au­gust 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9. A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held at Christ the King Angli­can Church, 19 Trin­ity Ave., Syd­ney on Satur­day, Au­gust 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Reg MacDonald of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment in St. Marks Ceme­tery.
