Berwick Maxner, 80, of Moncton, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 28, 2017.

Born in Louisburg, NS he was the son of the late George Osborne and Elizabeth Margaret (Jewell) Maxner. Berwick moved to Moncton in 1959 to work for Allsco; he then went on to work for Eastern Sales and then School District 2 in the Maintenanc­e Department, retiring in 2003. He attended St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, where he was a choir member and was a 23 year volunteer with the Moncton Fire Department. A hands-on person, he was a real jack of all trades, who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Berwick will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois (DeWare) of Moncton; daughter, Connie Hamilton (Stephen) of Moncton; grandchild­ren, Jeremy Hamilton (Kristen) of Ontario, Adam (Sarah) and Tyler Hamilton, both of Moncton and Marley McGinnis (Mark) of Moncton; great-grandchild­ren, Parker and Cohen McGinnis of Moncton and Cayden and Kaya Hamilton of Ontario; brothers, Art (Thelma),Victor (Joyce), Gary (Shirley) and John (Yvonne) all of Sydney, NS; sisters, Theresa Hiscock, Rose Maxner and Margaret Anne Maxner-Peddle (Kevin) all of Sydney, NS and Eleanor Kenentt (Richard) of Barrie, ON; several nieces, nephews and family and the extended DeWare family.

In addition to his parents, he was predecease­d by his brothers, Bernie and Gerard Maxner and nephew, Robert Maxner.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed immediatel­y by a Celebratio­n of Life Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., with Rev. Allison Carroll officiatin­g. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.

In memory of Berwick, donations to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciate­d by the family.
