Toilet paper scandal a new low

-

I thought I had heard everything before reading about the nursing home in Moncton advising residents there they will be limited to two free rolls of toilet paper a week.

The residents were also told they would be able to obtain additional toilet paper if it was added to their prescription deliveries.

Whoever made that decision should be fired.

I thought prescriptions were only for medications. I certainly would not want to get diarrhea and run out of toilet paper. Going back to the old days when we had to use old catalogues wouldn’t work either now that Sears is closed.

Do families have to start bringing in toilet paper for their loved ones? Or maybe we’re going high-tech and someone has come up with a new discovery to do the wiping.

Thanks to Anita LeBlanc for going public with her concerns after her mother inlaw called her up to buy her some toilet paper. No wonder officials at the seniors’ home did not want to be interviewed. I guess they were ashamed.

Reportedly the move was necessary because of an increase in overall costs. But I do not believe a lot of our tax dollars are used to look after our seniors. I also believe a lot of tax dollars are wasted.

I think people should be doing something about this now before this toilet paper policy is extended to all other nursing homes. This is a very humiliating situation. Mrs. Mickey Bushnik Sydney Mines
