It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Annie Teresa Schella on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at her residence at the age of 95.

Born in Whitney Pier on January 30, 1922 to John and Josephine (Wasylysn) Baryluk. She resided in Whitney Pier for 90 years before moving into her Enriched Housing apartment.

Annie was a stay at home mom who lived for her family. She was an excellent cook and loved new opportunit­ies. She was community minded and enjoyed contributi­ng to the improvemen­t of life in Whitney Pier. She was a past board member of the Whitney Pier Historical Society and the Whitney Pier Seniors Group. Over the years she canvassed for various organizati­ons including the building of the Whitney Pier Rink. Mother was very socially active and especially enjoyed swimming, travelling, bowling, darts and playing cards.

St. Mary’s Polish church was the center of her life. She was a past member of St. Cecilia’s Choir as well as the Altar Society.

Annie was predecease­d by her husband, John A. (Sr.) in 1987 and her oldest son, John (Jr.); as well as her sister, Mary Lahanky and brothers, Joseph, Peter and Tony.

She is survived by her children, Wally (Bernadette), Donna (Jack) Dalrymple, Robert (Catherine) and Francis (Amy). She was Babi to nine grandchild­ren, Jason (Laura) Schella, Jaret and Darin Schella, Sean (Alana) Dalrymple, Adam Schella, Maria (Johnathan MacAdam) Schella, Laura Schella, Carl Schella and Jeana (Mike Boudreau) Schella; as well as four great-grandchild­ren, Ava Schella, Laughlin and Jonah Boudreau and Logan Dalrymple. Also left to mourn is her brother, Paul of B.C.

Visitation for Annie will be held from 2-4 &7 -9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Polish Church, Whitney Pier on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Richard Philiposki officiatin­g, Burial to follow in Resurrecti­on Cemetery, Sydney Forks.

If you wish, memorial donations in Annie’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Polish Church Building Fund.
