CAMPBELL, Elizabeth ‘Liz’

It is with our deepest sorrows that we, the family, announce the passing of Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Campbell on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Infirmary QEII in Halifax. Born in Mainà-Dieu, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Loretta (Lahey) Campbell.

She worked at St. Rita’s hospital in housekeepi­ng for 25 years, where she made many dear friends. After her retirement she devoted her time to her family. She was a pillar of strength for her husband, children, granddaugh­ter, and three great grandsons. Liz had a great sense of humor and will be remembered most for her funniness.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, John Campbell, Baleine, Eliza Campbell, Alberta, Ron Campbell, Main-à-Dieu; one granddaugh­ter, Angelina (Jefferey) Nelson, Alberta, and three precious great grandsons, Thomas, Logan and Noah, Alberta.

She is also survived by her siblings, Delores, Naisha, Tish, Lucy, Loretta, Henora and Catherine, and brother, Angus, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predecease­d by her husband, Thomas Campbell, and siblings, Mary, Priscilla, Eileen, Philimina, Victor, Elias, Bud and Aloysius.

Funeral Mass for Elizabeth will take place Tuesday (today), September 12 at 2 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church in Main-àDieu, Father Evo DiPierro to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
