It is with saddens that we announce the passing of Theresa Mary Jessome, in her 91st year.

Theresa, who was the daughter of the late Mary (Madore) Cook and William Cook, lived her entire life in Glace Bay.

She was a member of St. John’s Parish as well as The Royal Canadian Legion.

Theresa was predecease­d by her husband, Freddy in 1977; as well as her son, Raymond in 2008. She was also predecease­d by daughter-in-law, Sylvia as well as sisters, Marie (Dim), Cecilia (Toots), Della; and brothers, Leo, and William. She is survived by her son, Leo and grandchild­ren, Trish, Dan and Leo as well as great-grandchild­ren, Christophe­r, Tyler, Jordan, Faythe, Alyssa, Aaron and Isabelle. She is also survived by sisters, Alva and Thelma; many nieces and nephews as well as her special nephew, John Walker.

Theresa loved the years she spent as part of the Monday Night Ladies Dart League. She had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with her friends. She was an avid baker and known for her fudge. She remained active until a year prior to moving to Seaview Manor seven years ago where she was well cared for by the entire care team.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. with Father Anthony O’Connor officiatin­g at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Glace Bay.
