It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of Donald Wilkie Mulley, age 59, beloved father, grandfathe­r, companion, brother, uncle and friend, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

Born in Sydney Mines on August 9, 1958, Donald was the son of the late William and Catherine (Wilkie) Mulley. He was employed with the Utility Service of the Cape Breton Regional Municipali­ty. He enjoyed going to his cabin in Middle River, restoring older model mustangs, being the auctioneer for the Northside Antique Custom Car Show, playing cards and watching hockey games. He was the life of any party and loved pulling pranks on others.

He is survived by his son, Kyle (Jessica), Florence; two daughters, Chelsea (David) Slade, Leitches Creek and Cara (Brian) Jessome, Coxheath; his companion, Linda Gwinn; his former wife, Bonita Mulley; his grandchild­ren, Cynthia, Victoria, Marissa, Bradley, Brian, Ella, Savannah, Isabella and baby Hadleigh due in October; his siblings, Marlene (Ian) MacLean, Middle River, Irene (Hal) Hill, Georges River, Bill (Denise) Mulley, Baddeck, Colleen (John) Roberts, Hammonds Plains, Kim (Scott) Young, Airdrie, Alberta, and a number of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He will be sadly missed by his special friends, Bruce, Norm, Joey, Kaye, Pat, Jonathan, David, Beastie, Murdock and the rest of the Middle River crew.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his stepmother, Asneth Mulley; his special cousin, Stewart Mulley, and a number of aunts and uncles.

Visitation for Donald will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Bras d’Or with Rev. Peter McLeod officiatin­g.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
