For­mer Rich­mond MLA joins law firm

HAL­I­FAX — For­mer Rich­mondCape Bre­ton Lib­eral MLA Michel Sam­son has joined the firm Cox & Palmer’s Hal­i­fax of­fice as coun­sel. “We are de­lighted to wel­come Michel to our firm,” said Kevin La­timer, man­ag­ing part­ner of Cox & Palmer’s Hal­i­fax of­fice. “Michel’s na­tional and in­ter­na­tional ex­pe­ri­ence in en­ergy, fish­ery, Abo­rig­i­nal af­fairs and trade mat­ters will be a tremen­dous as­set, fur­ther en­hanc­ing our abil­ity to serve our clients.” Sam­son, who nar­rowly lost the May pro­vin­cial elec­tion to PC can­di­date Alana Paon, said the tran­si­tion to Cox & Palmer was the right de­ci­sion for him and he is ea­ger to start his new po­si­tion. “Join­ing Cox & Palmer is a log­i­cal step for me,” said Sam­son. “It is a top-tier firm with a rep­u­ta­tion for pro­vid­ing out­stand­ing le­gal ser­vice. I am look­ing for­ward to shar­ing my ex­pe­ri­ence with clients and de­liv­er­ing re­sults.” Sam­son, a bilin­gual grad­u­ate of Dal­housie Law School, be­gan his law prac­tice in Port Hawkes­bury be­fore spend­ing 19 years as an MLA.
