Bail hearing for Sydney man on drug charge

SYDNEY — A 41-year-old Sydney man is to return to provincial court Monday for a bail hearing after being charged with a drug offence.

Daniel Karl Burton of Bay Street is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine. He made a brief court appearance Friday and was remanded pending the outcome of a bail hearing. Burton was charged after police seized a large quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, including scales and bags, from a home on Bay Street Thursday evening.
