It is with sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of our Dad, Mur­ray Kerr, which oc­curred at Vic­to­ria County Me­mo­rial Hos­pi­tal, Baddeck on Sept. 9, 2017.

He was born at St. Ann’s, Cape Bre­ton on Jan. 8, 1941 to par­ents, Charles and Cather­ine (Oak­ley) Kerr.

Mur­ray will be re­mem­bered by his sons, Ce­cil (Deanne) Gil­lams, N.L, Kim­ball (Tammy), St. Lawrence, N.L.; his daugh­ter, Mary Alana (Dan), Cross­field, Alta; grand­chil­dren, Kur­tis, Charles, Nicky, Emma and Evan; sis­ters, Dorothy Hart, Baddeck, Kathy Kerr, Hal­i­fax, Con­nie Kerr, Baddeck and broth­ers, Car­lie and Ce­cil, Baddeck also many nieces and neph­ews. Be­sides his par­ent Mur­ray was pre­de­ceased by his wife, Hazel Joan (MacDonald).

The last num­ber of his work­ing years Mur­ray worked for the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Li­brary Book­mo­bile bring­ing the en­joy­ment of books to many peo­ple.

Funeral Ser­vice will be at 11 a.m., Sat. Oct. 7, 2017 at St. Michael’s Church, Baddeck with burial to fol­low in the church ceme­tery.

Me­mo­rial dona­tions in mem­ory of the late Mur­ray Kerr may be made to Po­lio Nova Sco­tia Foun­da­tion, Baddeck Hos­pi­tal Pal­lia­tive Care or a char­ity of choice.
