Glace Bay

Ruth Worthington, 76, passed away on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 14, 2017 at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Syd­ney.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daugh­ter of the late Ger­ald and Rosie (Rosta) War­ren.

Ruth held many jobs through­out her life­time, some of which in­cluded, the Tasty Treat and Woolco.

She en­joyed mak­ing blan­kets, crafts, cro­chet­ing and go­ing to the flea mar­ket on Sun­day’s. Ruth had a great sense of hu­mour and she loved to laugh. She also ad­mired an­gels. But mostly, she loved her fam­ily and truly en­joyed tak­ing care of her grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren.

Ruth is sur­vived by two daugh­ters, Cyn­thia, Deb­bie, and a grand­daugh­ter, Melissa O’Brien whom she raised and con­sid­ered her as her own daugh­ter.

Also sur­viv­ing is Ruth’s brother, Ge­orge; daugh­ter in law, Dar­lene Worthington; grand­chil­dren, Thomas, Brit­tany, Re­becca, Cody, Rosie, Daniel, Ja­son and three great-grand­chil­dren, Bran­don, Chloe and Owen.

Be­sides her par­ents, Ruth was pre­de­ceased by her son, Tim; sis­ter, Rosie and a brother, Ger­ald.
