A program developed by a registered massage therapist that has changed the lives of many Cape Bretoners is set to begin another session on Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima Church Hall at 7 p.m.

It’s called Journey Alive’s Life Summit Series and it involves 10 weeks of free seminars and workshops that will help participants live a healthier life through dietary and lifestyle changes.

The program was developed by Coralie Murphy, who was encouraged by her late brother to create such a program because of her extensive knowledge of health-related issues after she lost 65 pounds.

The series educates people on health and wellness but differs from other mainstream programs in that it focuses on holistic practices, and brings the person back into their own wellness equation.

In an email sent out to potential participants, Murphy outlines her plan for the course.

“We are firm believers in the notion that education is power; and when you understand how the body works from a holistic perspective, your life can transform dramatically,” she said.

Shelley Bennett Trifos, one of the organizers of the upcoming course, says the initiative has helped her immensely.

“I consider myself blessed to be a part of it and to have improved my health and happiness immensely as a result of Coralie and her Journey Alive initiative,” said Trifos.

“She is doing it all for goodness sake, and asking only that participants pay it forward. She is providing her program to others for all of the right reasons.”

The course is free but there is a donation box at the entrance for those who wish to contribute to the ongoing program. People who attend are asked to bring a pen, paper, an open mind and an attitude of gratitude.
