MACLEAN, Agnes Marguerite ‘Marg’

It is with deep and profound sadness that we say goodbye to one of the strongest women God ever placed on this earth. Agnes Marguerite “Marg” MacLean (nee Scott) passed away September 26, 2017 peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Marg lived a full life including Mother and homemaker, she was a member of the Memory Lane Singers performing at nursing homes, a personal care worker and kept busy baking and cooking.

She loved her car and taking long drives, she loved the ocean, fishing and camping in Gabarus. The racetrack and horses were also a great passion; she was born October 17, 1934.

She is survived by her daughter, Barb (Howie) Campbell; sons, Richard, Leonard, Robert, Norman (Sue), and Darren; sisters, Beatrice (Tom) MacVicar, Rosena Walker and Dorothy MacInnis; her many cherished and loved grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews especially, Cheryl Campbell.

Marg was predecease­d by her parents, Richard and Elsie Scott; her husband, Jim MacLean and siblings, Gert Sears, John Scott, Isabel Campbell, Owen Scott and Cathy Degnar.

Friends and family will be gathering for a Celebratio­n of Marg’s Life on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
