It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother, sister, grandmothe­r, greatgrand­mother and friend Adeline MacDonald, 85, of Sydney Mines, on Thursday, September 28, 2017. Born in Bras d’Or, on June 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ellen (Cantwell) Brennick.

She is survived by her five daughters, Ellen (Daniel) Clarke, Linda (Gilles) Maillet, Debbie (George) Podetz, Brenda (Joey) Andrea and Janet (Greg) Dicks. She is also survived by 13 grandchild­ren, Jim, Danielle, Tyler, David, Jonathan, Melissa, Nicole, Leah, Stacy, Cheryl, Maria, Joseph and Jaclyn, and seven great grandchild­ren, Drake, Leo, Alexander, Lucas, Sadie, Lydia and Nicholas; as well as a sister, Helen Devison, who she dearly loved and felt was a great inspiratio­n throughout her life.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her loving husband of 63 years, Jerome; her grandson, Michael; grandson-in-law, LT; sister, Blanche, and brothers, John and Bernie.

Adeline was a generous, thoughtful and compassion­ate wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family. How truly fortunate we were to have her positive spirit, warm nature and wisdom, all of which has enriched our lives. Our mother was the guiding light for us and we will carry on her remarkable Legacy of Love. It warms our hearts knowing our dear mother and father are together again… All Our Love.

Visitation for Adeline MacDonald will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Church with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiatin­g, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Sydney Mines.
