MCMULLIN, Delores Eileen

-

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our sister Delores Eileen McMullin. Born July 24, 1965, she was the beloved “baby” of our family. Delores grew up in Glace Bay, and after graduating from St. Michael’s High School, attended the University College of Cape Breton; after which, she settled in Halifax to attend Mount Saint Vincent University. While working in a variety of restaurants in her early twenties, Dee found her passion in the food industry and a keen interest in “haute cuisine”. Delores was “Maître-d” at several esteemed restaurants - Ryan Duffy’s, MacAskill’s and Bacchus to name a few. She also worked for Atlantic Television (ATV) for several years before returning to her love of the Halifax food scene. Delores was a self-proclaimed “foodie” who loved to cook for others. She enjoyed collecting recipes and cookbooks and expressed her love for friends and family, creating her trademark 5-star meals and second-tonone comfort food dishes. She will also be remembered for her signature raven black hair, ocean blue eyes, sense of style and love of laughter.

Delores was predeceased by her father, Fraser McMullin; mother, Mary MacCormack (Parrott); brother, Thomas Joseph McMullin; brother, Dean McMullin, and her precious and beloved “boy” Spencer, her poodle and best fur friend of 16 years.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia (Francis), Genevieve, Debbie (Terry) and Arlene; brothers, Fraser (Jill), Tommy (Kris) and Vernon, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 - 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017, with a memorial service to follow at T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS, with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA in Delores’ name as she was a doting and faithful animal lover.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS, 902-849-4199.
