- BY CAPE BRETON POST STAFF

It’s been 30 years since Centre 200 first opened and to celebrate, an anniversary concert will take place on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

“This will be a great way to celebrate Centre 200 as the primary entertainment showplace in Cape Breton. I have worked with Fred Lavery on a couple of other events and he always puts together a great show that the audience I know will enjoy.’’ C200 general manager Paul MacDonald

The show will be under the direction of award-winning producer Fred Lavery of Lakewind Studios in Point Aconi and will feature well-known local musicians Matt Minglewood, The Barra MacNeils, The Men of the Deeps, Port Cities, Coig, Robert Bouchard and the MacArthur Dancers.

Bette MacDonald and Maynard Morrison will be the masters of ceremonies for the night.

“This will be a great way to celebrate Centre 200 as the primary entertainment showplace in Cape Breton,” said C200 general manager Paul MacDonald. “I have worked with Fred Lavery on a couple of other events and he always puts together a great show that the audience I know will enjoy.

“The setup for the show will be a more intimate setting which will limit the number of seats available, but will be great for the audience.”

Tickets go on sale today at the Centre 200 box office and online at tickets.capebreton.ca. Box office hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

All tickets are $45 which includes all taxes and fees.
