It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother, grandmothe­r and sister, Mary Campbell, age 55, formerly of Hunters Mountain who lived most of her life in North Sydney. Mary passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax.

Born in Baddeck on March 27, 1962, she was the daughter of the Margaret (MacLeod) and Stanley Campbell. Mary always had a smiling face for everyone and a helping hand for all those in need. She loved to knit, play TV bingo, walking and in her younger years she played the piano and was involved in the 4H Club and Highland Dancing.

Mary is survived by her four loving children, Joanie (Derek), Cory, Kathlene, all of Truro and Carson (Brant Porter), Calgary; her three beautiful grandchild­ren she loved and talked about dearly and were her pride and joy, Katie Burns, James Johnson, Riley MacMullin. She is also survived by her sisters, Joanie (Carlie) MacNeil, Iona, Linda (John) MacIver, MacKinnons Harbour and Patsy (Charles) MacLeod, Big Bras d’Or; halfsister, Joan MacQueen, Brantford, and half-brother, Donald Davis, North Sydney, and also by her loving companion, Raymond Anderson, and nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her cat, “Mittens” who she loved dearly.

Besides her parents she was predecease­d by her halfbrothe­r, Billy Davis, and halfsister, Dolores Davis.

Visitation for Mary will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Giles Presbyteri­an, North Sydney with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
