With sadness, the family of Lorraine Carroll, announce her passing at the An Cala, Palliative Care Unit, of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, on October 5, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 9, 1934 in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Edna Currie.

Mom was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish. “Nanny” is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John and their children, Janice, Robert (Lorna) and Lorna (Charlie); her seven grandchild­ren, Jennifer (Andrew), Shannon (Lee), Mark (Anoushka), Jonathan, Jordan, Robert and Erin; and her four great-grandchild­ren, Haelan, Breah, Bennett and Reid, whom she adored dearly. She was preceded by her sister, Theresa Currie.

She worked for many years at the Royal Bank, in Sydney. After her retirement, she spent her time volunteeri­ng at Meals on Wheels, the CBRH Gift shop and greeting Cruise ship guests, with her Tea Ladies. Mom had a huge heart and loved nothing more than having her family around her.

There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Theresa’s Parish on Monday October 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel.
