William David “Bill” Pentecost, 91, of Westmount, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 12, 1926, in Sydney, he was the son of the late David and Ellen “Nel” (Lamont) Pentecost.

In his earlier years, Bill was a carpenter with Stephen’s Building Supplies. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the highlands. Bill was a jack of all trades and loved spending time fixing small engines.

He is survived by his wife, Gzalla Rose (Dorogi); daughters, Donna (Darren) Murphy, Betty (Billy) Campbell and Margie Pentecost, all of Sydney; sons, Kevin (Jennifer) and Brian (Tracy), both of Westmount; sister, Mary, New Brunswick; brother, Wilfred, Westmount; grandchild­ren, Derek (Allison), Kevin (Amy), Angela (Trevor), Logan, Rosie, Melissa, Angie, Laura, Jakob and Lilly and many greatgrand­children.

Bill was predecease­d by his sons, Robert, William “Boo Boo” and Joseph; sister, Judy and brothers, Arthur, Aloysius “Wish”, James “Jim”, Duncan and Francis “Frank”.

Funeral mass will take place at Holy Rosary Church, Westmount on Monday, October 16 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Doug Murphy officiatin­g. Interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Bill was an animal lover, especially to his cats, so memorials to the Feral and Abandoned Cats Society at www.faacs.ca would be appreciate­d.
