Wil­liam David “Bill” Pen­te­cost, 91, of West­mount, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hospi­tal, Syd­ney, sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily.

Born July 12, 1926, in Syd­ney, he was the son of the late David and Ellen “Nel” (La­mont) Pen­te­cost.

In his ear­lier years, Bill was a car­pen­ter with Stephen’s Build­ing Sup­plies. He en­joyed hunt­ing and fish­ing in the high­lands. Bill was a jack of all trades and loved spend­ing time fix­ing small en­gines.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Gza­lla Rose (Dorogi); daugh­ters, Donna (Dar­ren) Mur­phy, Betty (Billy) Camp­bell and Margie Pen­te­cost, all of Syd­ney; sons, Kevin (Jen­nifer) and Brian (Tracy), both of West­mount; sis­ter, Mary, New Brunswick; brother, Wil­fred, West­mount; grand­chil­dren, Derek (Al­li­son), Kevin (Amy), An­gela (Trevor), Lo­gan, Rosie, Melissa, Angie, Laura, Jakob and Lilly and many great­grand­chil­dren.

Bill was pre­de­ceased by his sons, Robert, Wil­liam “Boo Boo” and Joseph; sis­ter, Judy and broth­ers, Arthur, Aloy­sius “Wish”, James “Jim”, Dun­can and Fran­cis “Frank”.

Fu­neral mass will take place at Holy Rosary Church, West­mount on Monday, October 16 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Doug Mur­phy of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment in Holy Rosary Ceme­tery.

Bill was an an­i­mal lover, es­pe­cially to his cats, so memo­ri­als to the Feral and Aban­doned Cats So­ci­ety at www.faacs.ca would be ap­pre­ci­ated.
