MELONEY, Patricia Jean
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patricia (Pat) Jean Meloney, 65, loving partner, mother- in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend on Monday, October 9, 2017 in Dover, New Hampshire.
Pat was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada on January 3, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Sid and Lois Meloney.
After a happy childhood in Cape Breton, she graduated from Thompson High School in North Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1970 and the Victoria General Hospital nursing school in Halifax, Nova Scotia, class of 1972. For 45 plus years she was a wonderful Register Nurse with outstanding empathy and compassion. Pat started her career in Canada and then moved to California. Pat finished the last part of her selfless career in New Hampshire where she worked with Seacoast Hospice and ended her nursing career at Personal Touch as Clinical Director for 15 years before early retirement.
She leaves this world with the peace and joy she shared during her life with many loving family members and friends. Pat is survived by and greatly missed by her partner of 21 years, Norma Bell; her daughter-in-law, Darlene (Scott) Bell-Boyd; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Colby Boyd; brother-inlaw, Ronnie (Valerie) Bell; the “furry” children, cats, Maddie, Meiko and dog, Megan; siblings, Bruce (Lizz) Meloney, Ross (Jan) Meloney, Karen (Mike) Landry and Sid (Carolyn) Meloney; nieces/nephews, Lynn (Todd) Blackwood, Kate (Marcus) Zwicker; great-nephews and nieces, Mason and Lucy, Nicholas Meloney, Stephen Meloney, Jonathan Meloney, Mallory Landry, Daniel Landry, Lauren Meloney, and Kendall Meloney, Scott (Christina) Bell; greatnephews, Chase and Ty, Nicki Hathaway-Bell, and Susan Bell; cousins, Ann Robinson, Alan (Elaine) MacLeod, and Glen (Karen) MacLeod; and the many good friends she had in Dover, Canada and through connections on Facebook.
A celebration of life will be held for Pat will be held 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Purdy Funeral Service, 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820. Per Pat’s wishes, her ashes will be scattered along the Bellamy River in Dover, New Hampshire and the Margaree River in Margaree, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, two of her favorite places, at a future date.
