COOKE, Norman Francis

Norman passed away on October 10, 2017.

Born March 11, 1944 and lived most of his life in Sydney, he was the

Son of Frank and Florence (Reid) Cooke.

For over fifty years, he earned his livelihood as a skilled Butcher in the

local area. During the latter part of his life, he also worked as a Taxi

driver. A Jack of all Trades, he dabbled in welding, dry walling and

automotive work. There wasn’t a task he couldn’t tackle!

Norman enjoyed the simple things in life; his pets, playing guitar, scenic

CB drives and the company of family and friends.

He is predecease­d by his sister, Shirley Stemmler (Ont.) and son, John.

Norman is survived by his beloved partner of 30 years, Ellen

MacDonald and his children, Connie MacGibbon (Wayne), Jim (Ruth),

Steve and stepson, Kyle MacDonald; grandfathe­r to Ryan, Emma, Ethan, Alicia, Miranda, Sara and Serenity. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will take place Monday, October 16, 2017 from 11-12 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.

A Celebratio­n of his Life will take place immediatel­y following in the

funeral home Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate. Reception to follow.
