It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Barbara Ann Williams, age 63. She passed away peacefully on October 7, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney Forks, NS, she was the daughter of Thomas James and Annie Rose (Peters) Walsh. Barb loved the simple things in life: family, friends, nature and a hot cup of tea. She was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, sister and friend. Her door was always open to those who needed anything, even if just an attentive ear. She was the symbol of strength, courage, love and determinat­ion, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sons, David, Blair, and Roger (Amanda) all of Howie Center;

grandchild­ren, Jonathon, Cody, Sam, Jaxson, Daniel and Amelia; and great-grandson, Bryson. She is also survived by her siblings, Darlene (John) MacInnis, Howie Center, Faye (Ron) Dauphinee, Sackville, Glen (Debbie) Walsh, Westmount; also, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predecease­d by her brother, Tommy Walsh; her parents, Thomas and Rose Walsh; granddaugh­ter, Jillian Whelan; grandson, Morgan Williams.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service in celebratio­n of her life will be held at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home on Sunday October 15,

2017, 2 p.m. 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiatin­g.

Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
