Florence passed peacefully a St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Florence will be greatly missed by her former husband, lifelong friend and care giver, Al.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and their families in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Florence will also be greatly missed by her niece, Dawn Monahan Reppa (Michael). Predecease­d by her sisters, Dency (Hugh) Monahan, Mary Kay MacInnis and brothers, Haun, Alex (Olive), James (Shiela) and Russel (Beverley) MacInnis.

Florence was a lifelong educator in Brantford for the Separate School Board, taught for 2 years for the Department of National Defence in Soest, Germany. Following a 35 year teaching career and retirement she became a trustee on the Brant County R.C. Board for several years. Florence also served as Chairperso­n of the Board for 3 years. She was an active parishione­r at St. Mary’s Parish for over 40 years. During that time she was a member of the C.W.L., St. Vincent de Paul Society and a regular participan­t in teaching of Catechism for children making their first communion. She was also involved in alter serving in the parish.

Much appreciati­on and thanks to Dr. Matsuda, Dr. Hadley and Dr. Allen and the entire staff on Bluebird Court as well as Phil Smith and the staff at Smith Pharmacy. We also would like to acknowledg­e the support of neighbours and friends on Proctor Avenue.

Friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 2-5 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray St., Brantford, ON on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
